Hey guys. I had a psychotic break at work 3yrs ago at one of the facilities that I work at. Since then I have been working at another facility but tomorrow I am going back to work at the one where I had the psychotic break. I am so nervous! A lot of the same people that I worked with that day will be there and I really don't want to go. I sent a text to my T but I haven't heard back from her yet. Any pocket riders want to come to work with me tomorrow? Please??

I will be right there in your pocket with you! I would be nervous, too. Just remember to breathe! I'm sure your T will text back in time. *hugs*

Thanks so much Onlymedid. I really hope that my T either texts me or calls me back before tomorrow comes.

I'm with 'ya, Cats! I haven't been back to my former workplace where I had my breakdown, and I can see how that would be kinda hard. Keep us updated!

Yeah, I had to go back to work after I had a psychotic break there. It went better than I thought it would. Not too many people even acted like I'd been gone--and the ones that did comment about my feelings were my "work friends." My office was on the top of the building and it seemed like it was a dreadfully long elevator ride to the top--I spent it taking deep breaths. I hope it works out for you.
Oh, and I found out who my true friends were when I returned to work. __________________ You don't have to fly straight... ...just keep it between the lines!

Remember that you have done a lot of work between then and now. I can understand the feeling of nervousness about returning. That's natural. Lean in to what you know, rely on the coping skills that work, and be kind to yourself. ((hugs))

You've spent the last three years learning and growing, so you are taking all of those lessons and all of that growth back with you. I've learned in the past year that we can do things that are really hard, and we can be okay, all at the same time. Both can be true. Be sure to let us know how it goes...it might be hard for us to hear what's going on while we're all crammed together in your pocket! |
