She doesn't want me to journal anymore. She says its making me worse...gonna bbe hard to stop... Also had to admit to her that I cut ttwice since I saw her two weeks ago... Kept hanging my head and she kept asking me to make eye contact. That sucked

I journal a lot, that would be hard to stop. How is it making it worse? What has she suggested you do instead of journal? Thinking of you.

Hey Nicole, It sounds like a difficult session. For some people journaling does make things worse as often the journalling we do for therapy is writig down about problems and hardships and for some people it gets them down focusing on it too much. My therapist says she is concerned with the fact I go on forums and read books etc about mental health quite a lot and that i'm maybe too fixated on it but she also recognises that by gaining the insight I taught myself about my problems it has also helped me a lot too.

How do you feel about stopping your journal? What was it that made eye contact difficult for you today?

*hugs*

My T says my journaling is making me feel worse cause it tends to get very negative when I feel this way and she doesn't want me to keep writing about stuff and dwelling on it.
As for the eye contact thing, it was hard because I was feeling intense shame because I had cut twice... She did tell me though that I should expect ups and downs and that she would be suprised if I DIDN'T need to call for coaching sometimes...
