I would try to go if they wanted me too.
I am so so sorry for what happened. That is so sad.  It's not YOUR fault. It's on them though.

When I was in the hospital a year ago my parents came to every visit. Of course, they also brought my oldest brother (my abuser) and several family friends who I didn't want knowing that I was in the psych hospital with them. It was a real circus! I guess it was a two-edged sword in my case...
