this is something I think nearly every day. I know many of us wish our therapists could be more that what they are.

My therapist has been working on my being more positive and in the same vein, I find myself thankful that she is in my life, in whatever capacity she is able to be. My life definitely would not be better if she weren’t there at all.

I was feeling this sort of gratitude after my session today in which I had to go and bring up a couple of things where some things she said triggered hurt/anger feelings in me.

I paused/hesitated a bit before I finally took a breath showed her a picture from my art journal.

This led to a very good discussion that lasted a good 20 minutes and in the end, I think we each had a better understanding of each other.

We also talked about the progress I have made thus far in the seven months that I have been seeing her and I left feeling very good about the session and the day ahead.

I left feeling very thankful to have this woman in my life.

And thank you for all the support you’ve all shown me here. I don’t take it for granted and am very appreciative to have a place to go when things get tough or even when things are good and have people who understand.

I'm so happy to hear you had a productive session and that you were able to show your T your art journal! It's heartwarming to read your praise of your T, too. Does she know how thankful you are for her? I'm glad you like this forum and are here.
Thanks for this!

Thanks, rainbow. No, I've not let her know (yet) of how thankful I am for her. But I know I will at some point when the time is right. Thanks for the hugs!!
