Hi i have been currently been seeing my t for almost a year for clinical depression generalized anxiety and borderline personality, and she told me i had this borderline thing last session,

i go weekly and its a mental health community and she is good we have a connection but i always have anxiety in the waiting room and a couple of minutes into the session, she knows about my childhood trauma but i have not processed it yet i think i will start next session as it is super difficult i dont want her to get frustrated with me because i am taking too long too tell her about it, another thing is that about 2 or 3 months ago she took on some clients from another therapist and they only allow you to schedule 2 appts ahead, i use to have no problems

now its like every other week i go without seeing her, and its hard enough waiting a week to talk again so imagine 2 weeks, she tells me to call to see if there are any cancellations but i feel like im bothering the receptionsists everyday calling to find out there are no cancellations, i am so frustrated

one of the receptionists asked me if my therapist knew i was calling everyday, i said of course why dont you verify with her. anyway this is me FRUSTRATED

Wow, that is frustrating. It seems like if you should be able to set one regular weekly appointment if you want. Have you discussed with T the difficulty of getting regular appointments and how disruptive it is to miss weeks? (Even though it seems to me she should know this is not ideal).

I do think you should tell her you are concerned that she is frustrated because you've not yet shared the trauma in detail. I used to be so worried about that, but when I shared my fear with T, he emphasized the importance of sharing at a pace that felt safe to me. So if you share your fears you may be reassured.

I am glad you like your T and I hope you and her can get these difficulties resolved!
Thanks for this!

thanks for responding yes she knows is greatly important she was the one who says that i need to be seen weekly but i guess its beyond her control when i see her next week i will tell her that its frustrating even if its beyond her control, as far as the trauma i guess its just me reading into her because i think if i was the therapist i would kick myself out for not sharing as quickly as i should i suppose

I feel that a regular weekly slot is a basic human right akin to clean water and religious freedom.
