Have you ever felt relief after talking about something that is really hard to talk about in T? Last week I felt like I was really glad to be able to get out all the stuff I was able to about a really hard topic. It felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. But it was still really scary and hard to be able to say the stuff. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep. Me too. It's a huge relief, and panicky and icky feelings all at the same time.
Thanks for this!

Yes. Very much so. Amazing how it can help. But that still doesn't make it easy.

Good to hear you are feeling a weight off of your shoulders.

Oh yes ALL the time. We see a trauma/DID T, and its NOT fun at all to talk about stuff... she pushes us HARD... and she won't let us (usually) sat "Dont want to talk about it". And the stuff is SO hard to talk about-- its SO scary! But she is so accepting and helps us feel better--so it is usually works out.
Thanks for this!

Yes, absolutely. Be sure to give yourself credit for doing the hard work! Remember this feeling-it may make it easier to talk about hard stuff in the future!

I've felt that kind of relief but it's usually combined with feeling mortified. I've almost quit in the past because I didn't want to face T again. So, usually I go from relief, to embarrassment, to flight mode, to working through all those emotions, to finally - relief again.

Oh yes. Sometimes knowing how relieved I'm going to feel when it's over is the only thing that motivates me to get the difficult stuff out there. Knowing I'm going to have to bring up something difficult is like carrying a heavy burden around, and once I've unloaded it, I feel 10 pounds lighter!! And the nice thing is ... I don't have to feel like I've dumped it on T. He's a teflon T - it just slides right off him into the ether
