So some of you may remember a post I made in this forum about changing pdocs to one closer to home. Well, I saw the new one yesterday and it went well. He was nice.
Turns out he knew my old pdoc when he was a resident. He asked who my old one is, I told him. He asked how to spell it. I told him. Then came the questions...Haitian gentleman? yes. Early 60's? yes. Oh he came from X hospital in NY. He was my attending when I was a resident. Wow what a small world. The new pdoc has a sense of humor. When I told him my diagnosis from the other pdoc (Psychotic Disorder NOS), he goes do you know what that means? I said what I thought it meant...that I didn't meet the criteria for other psychotic disorders. He smiles and says, yes, but it also means "You're psychotic but I have no clue why." Myn old pdoc wanted to see me every month, the new one said come back in 6-8 weeks. So that is helpful financially. All went well and I am glad. Well I need to get ready to leave for my appointment with my psychologist now. Just wanted to give an update on the new pdoc. |
