It dawned on me this morning... I love it when people interject humor and sarcasm into the boards. Like a breath of cool air to bring down the temp of a seriously hot thread. Although I don't "know" anyone one here in RL or physical person, the comradery is amazing, but I find the written word can be misunderstood so easily. As a point of reference please be advised....

I like to joke.... I am sarcastic and seriousness is not my first face.
Anyone else wanna chime in? Where are my fellow comedians? I can think of a few but I'm not calling you out...LOL.

Laughter is the best medicine right? ....well after the ones my doc gives me LOL
Thanks for this!

Yes I agree, sometimes when I am so caught up in my head, someone will post something that will seriously make me laugh which is sometimes just what I need to lighten things.

However for me, there has to be a balance, if all the posts I received to a serious question were light hearted and funny, I think I would not feel heard or that my issue was not worthy of posting - life is always a balance isn't it.

I do kinda think I'm funny. I hope people take things in the way that I intend them. I never intend to be funny or distracting, or to make someone feel they haven't been heard. Usually, I do it to try to cheer someone up or lighten the mood.

Here's some humor for you ...

Restaurant Greeter: Oh! ... Will you be dining alone today?

Me: No, I'm here with my multiple personalities ... Would you like to meet them?

Thanks for this!

freud thought it important enough to write about - Jokes and their relation to the unconscious. Humor is a subject that has been under-researched because people didn't take it seriously! That is changing now.

Personally, we only ever watched comedy shows together as a family. so it's something that was reinforced for me. my cousin grew up watching Bonanza with her dad. We NEVER watched Bonanza!

ETA - I thought your posts yesterday were HILARIOUS!!!

ETAF - I definitely use humor as a defense? and when I am aware of it, I will try to say something about it in the post. like zoo's recent stuff about her prev T, there was a lot of conflict there that I could REALLY identify with - if your T is a flake, does it negate all your work? Because that was what my June '11 rupture was about, and what brought me to PC. I was like, who IS this guy??? What's WRONG with him??? SOaFB!!! (pardon my french!) and then that brought out the fart jokes... I'm not proud...

I think a lot of people here are very funny. I definitely enjoy the humor. It helps me remember to not take things so seriously.

Don't know if this would be considered a joke but it made me laugh. Went to a meeting yesterday and someone said, "You know what SOBER stands for? Son of a b***h, everything's real!"
Here's to belly laughs

If any of you take offense, sorry! My blind friend at church told me this last Sunday and had me cracking up! He told me a few others, too, but I can't think of them now.

A blind man goes into a store and starts swinging his seeing-eye dog over his head. The store owner asked what he was doing , and he said he was just looking around.
