Seriously. My dad died; my sister and her husband stole my stuff; my mom is bizarre; we have no money; my father in law died last week and today my 15 year old dog died. My husband was with her when she died, which was nice, but we were supposed to meet his mother for dinner, which was really hard. I asked him to cover our dog with a blanket and we'd move her when we got home. He didn't cover her, though, and I came home to my dog lying in a pool of blood. My husband and I had a huge fight.

So, I ended up calling my T weeping, but really, what can he do? What can anyone do? My marriage sucks. My biological family sucks. My life sucks right now.

Some people don't understand the loss of a pet. They love unconditionally while people on the other hand...not so much.

Wishing you better times. I'm so sorry for all of your losses.

I am so sorry to hear about your dog. The last time I cried was over two years ago when my dog died. Pets are part of the family as far as I am concerned and their loss is real. I hope you can give yourself time to grieve and that the therapist can help.

He hasn't called me back, but I realized that I didn't leave my name or number in the message. I'm pretty sure he knows it was me, because we just talked this morning about the fact that my baby girl had a stroke this morning, but I thought she was getting better. But, I doubt he has my number memorized or anything. How embarrassing would that be if he did?

(((((MKAC))))) I'm so so sorry.

Can you call T back and leave your name so you can connect? I hear you saying "what can he do?", but for me, sometimes just a moment of calm support can go a long way.

I'm so sorry for your loss... I still cry when I think about my doggy's death, about 4 years ago. I see no difference in losing a human being and a dog, because they are family members...
stay strong

Bluemountains
It's not actually that dog, bluemountains. Sable was a big yellow shepherd mix. You know that big yellow dog you see on every farm in the midwest? That was her. We called her the ubiquitous yellow dog. For those not in the midwest, have you seen Old Yeller? That was her, sort of.

When we got her, it was just temporary, to save her from being put to sleep by animal control, because she was SO nice. Her owners wouldn't come and pay the fine, so we took her just until we could find her a new home. She had just had puppies recently, so she had these giant teats. My kids were almost two and almost four, and they thought it was funny to pretend to be puppies and suckle on her. She laid on her side and just licked their heads while they did. I walked in and couldn't decide if I thought it was more disgusting or hysterical. We have a friend with an autistic child, and he used to hang like a sloth off of Sable. He'd wrap his arms around her neck and his legs around her belly and she'd walk around with him like that, and periodically stop and lick his face, or slowly lie down with him and cuddle him. She loved kids and cats and other dogs and . . . When she was outside, the outside cat would come racing to her and she'd lick the cat, and the cat would walk around under Sable's belly so the other dogs couldn't get her (the cat).

She was a really great dog.

(((Mykidsarecool))) Sable was a great dog, and she had a great long life with you and the kids. My belief is you'll see her again one day
. Thanks for sharing her story. I'm sorry for your deep pain, may angels surround you. Sending hugs if that' s ok.
