Ok, I'm going to try to make this short and to the point but yet at the same time get all the details in so you understand exactly what is going on. Ok I have been seeing a T for last 3.5 years who is also the same T I saw as a teenager for about 4 years. In the years I was not seeing this T I either didn't have a T at all or I was switched around from T to T quite frequently within a particular agency. The that I had most recently been seeing is no longer practicing at the organization that I'm going to and there is no way to follow her at this time but possibly in the future. The organization set me up with one of their other T's and I had a session with her earlier this week and I just don't like her and I know it's not going to work. I already feel like she is judging me. I am scheduled to see her again in two weeks. Do I keep the appt and see what happens? Do I cancel the appt and go somewhere else? Do I cancel the appt and see nobody until I can get back with my original T?
I would appreciate any of your suggestions. Thanks. |

Hi blackhumor! I know some therapists think that you should try at least a few times before you decide a therapist is not right for you. I certainly didn't like my first therapist at all when I first met him.

Maybe IMO give new 2 one more visit then if there's no inkling of hope of connection for you then wait for your original T?

I think if you just don't like her, try another one.
