I always tried to get appointments in the evening 4 or 5 ,I even began to change out of my business attire into my street clothes just to make sure little me came to therapy and not just big me (work me). Big me doesn't need therapy its little me that does!

I have my therapy outfit-well it changes so I'm not always wearing the same thing-but it's comfy clothes that allow "her" to be present-I don't like when I have to wear my dress clothes there!!
What do you wear to therapy, and how important is that?

I have major image issues and I therefore specifically picked my T time to be right after work - that means that I don't have to deliberate over what to wear.

Anything I'd wear to a friend's house or to school as well - just regular clothes. Though I do try not to wear the same stuff again in a short span of time. And I'd never go completely casual (sweatpants etc.).

Interesting, by which I mean, "not at all what I would have expected".

Because for me, clothes directly reflect the level of intimacy. I can dress "cosy" or "hostile" depending on my mood.

I try and make a bit of an effort. I don't get out much these days so I like any excuse to dress up a bit!

I generally wear casual skirts/dresses with leggings, vest tops with open shirts, cardigans... I would wear jeans, but yeah, none of them have really fit me for a while... I try to wear clothes I'll feel comfortable in, and that make the best of my figure (or at least hide/disguise the fat ).

I never go anywhere without makeup and my hair done, and T days are no exception - if I'm feeling anxious sometimes I'll take extra time with this, it's almost like a ritual now that calms me down before I leave the house, prepares me to face the world, and also just makes me feel more like 'me'...

I feel like it's important to feel I look good (or as good as I generally get) then I'll feel more confident... and if I feel more confident I'll be more likely to open up, make eye contact, and be chatty! I can be so self conscious and have low self esteem - so if I went to see T feeling like I looked scruffy I'd find it very hard to engage in the session, look at her, talk... It's my issue, and it's not because I think she'd judge me... although I am conscious that she notes what I wear/look like - colours, how 'swaddled up' I am, if I'm wearing long sleeves, weight fluctuations, if I change my hair...

Since I drive to T I have to wear flats (ballet/'dolly' shoes.) I got new ones at Christmas as my old driving shoes were so beat up I was ashamed for T to see them anymore!

If I ever felt like I was going there 'meaning business' I'd probably pop on a blazer

Whatever I wore to work that day...usually some sort of business casual (which where I work can mean jeans with a nice shirt).

I had the day off yesterday when I went to session, so I wore jeans, a nice flowy tee and my Cons. Same way I dress on the weekend when I'm going somewhere.

I'm kind of a fashionista, so I tend to always dress kinda nice when I go out anywhere.

I always dress nicely, not really sure why. Maybe if I dress well he won't notice me! I also where long sleeves to cover SI, even though he knows.

Jeans and a T shirt in summer, jeans and a turtleneck and sweatshirt in winter. If I'm really feeling daring, then I might wear long gym shorts and a T shirt if the outdoor temp reaches 90F but we usually have only a few of those each summer.

The samething I would wear out to bring my kids to appointment, or running errands. I try to look nice while I am out and about (with the exception of preschool drop off and pick up).. So, nicer jeans, usually my trouser jeans or kahkis.. In winter time I usually have some kind of sweater(lots of cardigans) on, and a lot of scarfs. Shoes, right now.. are my nice winter boots, since it is usally snowy or slushy here. In the spring and summer it will be flip flops, or my flats.. I am another one who likes to dress up, so when I am having a good day, I will make sure to have my hair done, make up on, and maybe even some accessories. However, I have had a lot of bad days recently and I have showed up in one of my hoodies, jeans, and sneakers.

I tend to dress up a bit. I am the sort of person who wont ever leave the house in something too casual. I try to look as though have it together; it makes me feel better about myself.

I don't get dressed to the nines or anything but I do make a concentrated effort to look nice and put makeup on.

I don't get out much.

This is interesting to me as the way I dress reflects a lot about how I feel about myself.
I always go casual because that's my general style what I am comfortable with. The last 2-3 months have been really hard, I have been wearing very loose fitting hippy-like pants, and tshirts with a zip up jumper. No makeup. I havnt actually brushed my hair in about 4+weeks and I go to my appointment with the same bun I have slept in since I last washed my hair. I never wear skirts, shorts or dresses no matter how hot it is cause I hate my legs. A few weeks ago I went in my pjama pants and no shoes, that was a particularly bad week. But I'm 19 so who cares

On a weekday, if I come from work it is my office clothes "business casual" as they say here in the US. If it's up to me, jeans and a comfy shirt!!!

The best days are when I have a rare Sat session--we are both in jeans and casual tops!!

Business casual on days I have work. Sweats/T-shirts and Pajama pants the days that I don't I wish I could wear sweats all the time, they're more relaxing and comforting and help us feel more at ease.
Thanks for this!
