This is more a question for people who can't contact t between sessions.
Just wondering what people do in between sessions when they really feel the need to talk or share with t but they can't. I have sessions every two weeks and right now it feels like forever until my next session. I want a fast forward button for life! I have to be careful or I spend all my time thinking about the next session and replaying the last session in my head - and I get nothing done!

I always write down exactly what I wish I could tell her. On bad weeks I end up writing a lot. I've written five pages the last few days. I usually show it to T in my appointment, because I struggle to say it and if I don't share my writing then she doesn't know...and she can help me with what's been happening during the week.
Other than that I just wait, cling on, fight, struggle, battle my way forwards...something like that! It's not easy! |

a big thing for me is to write in my journal and i write in my T journal also.i write to her. i also keep myself busy whith crafts and stuff .and sometimes i just freak out and melt down because nothing works.have you asked to have weekly sessions or share your feelings about not being able to contact between sessions

I've written in PC and then printed, to bring to my T. I've mostly written in my journal though. I fell out of the writing habit after my last hospitalization ~ which I really need to pick back up. Otherwise, I try to distract myself as much as I can. Long walks, exercise, etc. Best wishes and gentle hugs sent your way. I've got another week before I see my T ~ and am real anxious for that time to come myself. ![]()

Yeah, I can't contact my T between sessions either. It kills me. I do a lot of writing and posting here to make it. I watch movies. It's hard. I don't seem to want to do anything else. I haven't wanted to get off the couch. I see her twice a week. I asked for more time.

I also have 2 weeks between appts. Idk if my solution is a very good one, but I write a lot on pc and I write on paper a lot. I've occasionally unintentionally spent whole days on pc. In one sense I feel like I've just needed to let myself go and do these things I feel such a strong urge to do. I hope it's worth it and helpful in the long run. On the other hand, I'm not comfortable enough with spending so much time on it that I've been able to tell my t I do it. I did tell him once at the beginning that I post on a therapy website and that I think I spend too much time online. He was supportive about using the internet to connect with people.
I sure identify with your feeling of waiting for t... Sometimes it seems so important to continue the conversation-- waiting 2 weeks seems like such a waste of time. Fortunately it doesn't always feel so urgent. |

Writing is the answer for me too. I don't know if I'm in the category of "no contact" between sessions or not because I can email my T but unless it's about scheduling or my birthday
![]() So, I'm basically writing to get it "out" though I know my T will read my emails before my next session each week. That helps. Posting on PC helps a lot too. If I start a lot of threads, I do it because it's a way of "connecting" to my T in some sense. |
