The other thread about dreams about T's got me thinking about whether my T has ever had a dream about me. If she has, she certainly hasn't said anything about it. I'd say I'd just ask her, but I'm kind of cowardly about those kinds of questions.
I vaguely remember having read one of Yalom's books in which he talks about sharing dreams with clients. Has anyone ever had a T share a dream about them? |

No. And if the woman has a shred of decency she never will.

Too intimate?

I don't think she would ever tell me. That would be about her, not me.
Hmmm... Maybe I turn into a T Rex.

I'm pretty sure I would turn into a kraken in my T's dreams.

I have never had a dream about a client (thus far). If I did, I would not share it, regardless of how minimal the dream.

I've shared several dreams about my T and therapy with my T, but no, I doubt she'd share if she ever dreamt about me.

I hope if he had one, I'd never hear about it. That would feel kind of skeevy to me.

I'm sure ts do sometimes dream about their clients, but I doubt they would share them. It would be far too personal to be any benefit for the client to hear it.

Actually, my old T had a dream about me once that she shared. IRL, I was preparing for a visit home to my (fairly difficult) parents. T dreamed that she was driving there with me.
She shared it with me to say that she had such a strong wish to protect me from the hurtful things that my parents say to me. I was really touched and found her sharing of the dream very therapeutic. Best, EJ |
