I ended up in the ER tonight with an allergic reaction to my bipolar medication. The Saphris literitlly burned my throat and tongue horribly. I can't eat or swallow. I'm so upset, it was working great. Now I have to start the med trials over again. I hate this. I hate being bipolar. I hate needing meds. The only positive thing was the ER doc was very nice to me, and didn't make feel bad for having a psych history. Hugs anyone?

I'm really sorry that happened. What a relief the doc was nice to you though.

I'm sorry, lostmyway. That sounds seriously painful and scary, too. Do you have medicine for your throat or does that have to heal on its own? Dumb question maybe but I don't know anything about that kind of injury...anyway I really hope you feel better soon, and I hope you find a new bipolar med soon that you tolerate.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for the hugs everyone. it was a rough night. They gave me bedadryl/steroids, mouthwash, and pain meds for the next few days. It's incredibly painful. Like I swallowed a scolding hot cup of coffee. Unfortunately, I KNOW this is going to throw me into a rapid cycle. So I'm really bummed out, because I was doing good. I guess it's good have T first thing this morning (for extra support). Then I will have to have an emergency pdoc visit later today. Ughhhh long day ahead I guess. Anyway thanks again for hugs I needed them.

That does not sound like a friendly med (enough side effects to be a problem in itself), does not play well with other meds either!

No fun!
