I'm very much ISFJ. The first time I read the description on that personality type, I thought it was a bit freaky, just how closely it described me. I've always been both very introverted and very shy. I'm working hard to fix the shy part...but I'm happy being an introvert.

I haven't taken a Myers-Briggs test for years and years and can't remember which other letters I had, but I have always scored 90%-100% I. Then again, I am Swedish
![]() I can be around other people - I even work as a teacher so I have to meet others from time to time. But it drains me of energy, and I absolutely have to have some time to myself every day. Which is one of the reasons I don't have children. |

Do INTJs get along with other INTJs?
Sometimes people who are too similar find themselves in competition and then in conflict.

Time magazine just did a great article on this topic. The quiz is below. Taking this quiz helped me realize how introverted that I am and that I have lived my life feeling bad about it because most cultures prefer extroverts. This article and test really helped me like myself better for who I am.

INFJ - the I and N strongly expressed (67 and 62% - which I had no doubt of at all), but when I was thinking about it before I took the test, I really couldn't decide between F and T or J and P, because the delineation is not so clear there to me. but this test said, moderately expressed feeling (38%) and slightly expressed judging (1%). sounds accurate enough to me.
but maybe I'll call myself an INFJ/P ![]() |

![]() I've never known another INTJ. Then again, I don't know that many people in RL who've taken the test.

I was wondering in general terms if people with the same personality type necessarily get along, which seemed to be what you were suggesting.

I'm definitely an introvert. It usually takes me a lot of time to "warm up" to people, really trust them and really be myself around them. And even then I'm not much of a talker most of the time.
I have only a handful of friends and am usually shy and awkward when meeting new people. And, like others have stated, I also need a lot of time to myself. Like, I've tried imagining living with a SO (if I had one)... and I just can't imagine being with someone else most of the time, even if I loved them. I just need my "computer/TV/reading" time to myself every day ![]() Also, my test result is INFJ. Last edited by Screenager; Sep 10, 2012 at 11:13 AM. |

I score off the charts in a personalty assessment as being an introvert. But is that a "problem" or just who I am? I like to think of it as just who I am, why does the world have to view it as a problem?

I am pathologically introverted. Which means that I believe my introversion rises to the level of disorder--making it very hard not only to summon up interpersonal desires (relationships and socializing) but also with the basics of expression (emotions and verbal/nonverbal communication).
Yes, it bothers me. I don't want to be like everyone else, but I do want to fit in better. Feeling like an outsider all the time sucks. But I don't think introverts hold a monopoly on mental illness. I have a sister who is the complete opposite of me. She has histrionic tendencies and bipolar disorder. Maybe our personalities contribute to our malfunctions, but I don't blame my introversion for who I am. Maybe it's a symptom itself, but it's not a cause of anything. If anything, the fact that I can be content by myself makes it easier to cope. If I had to deal with loneliness on top of everything else, I would be a hot mess. |

I am an extreme introvert. More than two or three people in a room stresses me out and i get overwhelmed. I need a lot of quiet time alone every day,
