Any tips? I went to one guy who creeped me out bad for maybe 3 or 4 sessions like a year or two ago and never went to find another, but now I really need one. Definitely only looking for a woman this time. I really need to start fixing my issues. This emotional roller coaster is really starting to take over my life.

also, look at the faculty listings for the local university psychology departments. If you PM me with your location (city) and insurance network I can try to help you find one!

Think about what you want, make a list, interview the person. Go see several before deciding on one. If any of your friends see therapists they like, ask the friend's therapist for a referral - I do not advise seeing the same therapist that a friend goes to see.

I narrowed it down to 3 people in my area, called all of them, decided to make an appt with 2 of them and after meeting one time with each, knew that my current T was the one for me. I met with the other one first and it helped knowing that I had another option since the first one didn't feel so great. Good luck!
