my session was a week ago ... we finally had a session where we were moving forward after a very hard few months. Our connection is getting stronger and i've been working hard on allowing that connection to happen ... allowing myself to care for her - which is so amazingly hard because there is so so much fear in the way of that...

but i think i've turned the knob and opened the door towards that caring - the door is only open a crack ... but i can see the light on the other side.

a couple of months ago she said i was making 'the relationship' work. at the time i didn't believe her, but today, maybe i believe her just a little bit.

i think this is one of the hardest things i've ever tried to do.

my therapy is working.

What does it mean when she says that you are "making" the relationship work? I am having a hard time with my T. I have no idea what I am supposed to do to "make" the relationship work.

thanks all!! i look forward to seeing her next week.

Freefall1974 - I'm not sure what she specifically meant, 'cause i didn't ask her. but, how i interpret it to mean is that i keep showing up, i keep trying, i'm open and honest, and i take risks to share hard stuff that creates connection and intimacy in the relationship.
