Who is this alien?

Done with old T. Thought it was for the summer, turns out he's probably not going to do private therapy practice.

Suddenly switched to a new T.

I feel so conflicted. I miss old T. This new one is different. It's not that she does anything WRONG per se but everything feels strange and alien. She wears more casual clothes, she turns the lights down. And still I find myself unbearably uncomfortable.

I WANT OLD T!!!


I'm paying out of pocket, and I am a broke *** college student. So I'm thinking... I'm paying $60 a week for the dubious pleasure of feeling highly uncomfortable with this lady!

I spent my first two years with current T telling her she was doing it wrong because she wasn't doing it like T-2.

That sounds really hard. I'm a broke college student paying about the same as you. I know how hard that is. I have my first T though, and it's hard enough paying that amount if things are really good. It's still a stretch.

So sorry to hear about your old T. That would have come as a shock if you were expecting to be able to see him again.

I don't know if I want to see her on Mon. I am thinking of canceling.

I know I'll never get better if I don't go, but I'm not at all sure that going to her will help either.

And I don't want a new T either.

This whole thing is so unfair!!!

I recently switched t's and went/am going through the same thing you're describing. Everything from the way she dresses (cowboy boots and t-shirts!) to the office decor is just wrong because it's not the way old t did it. But, after 5 or 6 sessions, I am coming to accept the differences and realizing that she probably has something to offer. I say, give yourself an opportunity to get to know her and try (I know, it's hard) to stop comparing.
