This is the email I sent my old counseler at the school I just graduated from. Should I take something out or is it okay as it is?
I wanted to thank you for your time and patience during the time that I was using the counseling services at UNCC. I graduated on Saturday in the usual four years and I don't think that would have happened without the support that the counseling center gave me. I know that I probably wasn't the easiest individual to work with, but everyone that I came into contact with at the counseling center seemed committed to making sure that I would be okay. I will admit that I was angry with a lot of people the last time I was hospitalized when I was taken there by the campus police. I felt like I was having my choices taken away once again. I understand now that the people that cared about my well-being were only trying to keep me safe from myself. I haven't been hospitalized for over a year now. I still have struggle with dealing with the changes in my moods and emotions but I think it's getting easier. I've been in a DBT group that I think has helped a lot. The work that you and everyone else does at the counseling center is important. I may not exactly be a success story but I'd like to think that you and others that I worked with during my time at UNCC helped me transition into some sense of stability. |

That's a very good letter. Graduating in the expected time is a success. Well done!
