I went back to the therapy me-me and really took the time to consider each question carefully. I expanded on the areas that were of importance - like how I feel about T's other clients, the word "love", dreams that include T, talking about "sex", his "annoying habits", believing or not that he cares...and much more.

I decided that it would be useful to share this with my T....so I emailed it to him!

He responded, saying that it was very powerful and that he's eager to hear more. He wants to talk about it during my next session.

One of the things I mentioned in the questionnaire is that I wish he could find a way to help me talk about difficult things, that I tend to become non-verbal, that I don't always express what I'm truly feeling because of anxiety, etc.....SO, he suggested that I bring my computer into my session and we can email each other during the session!!

I am a bit anxious about it....but I do believe that it will be very helpful for me to be able to "say" the things I need to say without fighting that barrier of resistance to get the words out. T doesn't like to do therapy by email because words can be misinterpreted, he needs to have the visual in order to see where I am, etc. Well, this way, we both get what we need!

I am scared - but am looking forward to it at the same time!

Wow, I really like the idea of emailing in session. That would probably help me quite a bit. I'll be interested to hear how you like it.

Oo that sounds great!! I think I would love to be able to email in session that way. It could be a great way to open communication in a way that works for you.

Good luck and let us know how it goes

What is a therapy me-me?

OK, I see another thread... BUT the dictionary says meme is "an element of a culture or system of behavior that may be considered to be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, esp. imitation."

Mue, i like it when t's are willing to step out of the box so to speak to help their clients.
t is doing that with me more often. i makes me feel a connection that i didn't have before. i feel like more than a file that gets put on his desk.
i'm glad to hear your t is doing the same....
looking forward to your response...

I always thought that what the other thread was about was called an email or Internet survey.

I like that, MUE, emailing in session. Please tell us how it goes. I think that could help quite a few people in here!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
