Last night, my son and I decided to go to sleep early. We usually go visit my son. I was tired. So lying there trying to get to sleep. I hear people fighting. So he and I get up and there is about 6 people. My son opened the door and as i got my glasses my son said, they were swinging a cat by it's tail. I was like what?!
I looked out and they started stomping on the cat. By that time I called 911. We walked out on the porch and the 6 started fighting with each other. I called the cops again... finally they came with sirens.. and the 6 started running. My son yelled out, that they killed that cat.

The 6 were so drunk they could not even run straight. The cops looked for them. My son and I met up with the cop that stop in front of the cat. We told him what happen. I said, it's a crime right to kill a cat? Cop said, animal cruelty.

We went back inside. The dispatcher called me back and said they had 6 ppl in custody and was i sure they did this? I told them yes, I saw it and so did my son.

Woke up this morning, not feeling well and had not slept that well. Ugh!
I am disgusted and I am angry and sad
Just a few hours before that happened that same cat was playing in the grass and rolling around, so carefree and I love cats!

I know this seems silly, but I feel so bad. How can someone hurt a innocent animal? I just feel horrible.
I text one of my cop friends today, he was not on duty. But he said the 6 will probably face felony charges.
The cat was finally removed sometime this afternoon.
Talk about add to my PTSD.

I just don't know how to deal with this..

TinaL - I am so sorry you had to witness this. That is horrible. I love cats too and would feel just horrible having to see cruelty to one.

I don't think it's silly at all to be upset by animal cruelty. What you had to witness, and that people did this, was terrible. I am so sorry for you, your son, and of course most of all, that cat-- who was probably loved by somebody, or who should have been.
Thanks for this!

TinaL, I'm sooo glad that you called 911 and reported this animal cruelty! I know it must have been awful for you and your son to witness this crime, but I'm so happy that you were willing to step forward and say that their action was wrong and criminal!

I love cats . .. heck, I love dogs too! I love all animals and I hate when I hear about people getting drunk and hurting animals. You are a hero in my eyes!
Thanks for this!

That is just awful. I am so sorry you had to witness that. The way you are feeling is not silly at all. I have no idea how people can be so cruel. It is understandable you are upset.

So sorry you and your son had to see this. At least cops came and seems as though they took it seriously.
