So the past 2 weeks I have been having my therapy sessions over the phone as I wasn't able to get to a face to face appointment.

So on my last telephone session, at the end of the call my psychologist, goes
" our next session is face to face next Friday, I'm looking forward to seeing you "

So I go " ok, see you next week "

She goes again " I'm looking forward to seeing you next Friday "

Again I go " ok, see you next week "

Maybe she was just being nice, just don't know why she needed to say it twice, maybe it just me as I'm not used to people saying things like that.

I doubt it means anything. Probably just saying it one more time to be sure the schedule is clear or something. Might have had one of those brain farts where she wasn't sure she said what she thought she said so she said it again to be sure.
Thanks for this!

Maybe just a pattern glitch? Kind of like when somebody said "Happy Birthday Wikid" my response instead of being "thanks" was "Happy Birthday". lol. We follow a vocal pattern and sometimes our speech just goes there without us thinking about it.

Have you seen this T before in person or will it be the first time?

I tend to have a problem with people complimenting me sometimes. When I read you post, I wondered if your T wanted you to say it back or she was just being sincere? OMGosh, I am dissecting everything now!

But as you said, these sessions lately have been different (over the phone), so it would be perfectly normal for her comments to have some differences too. It's just a different dynamic over the phone. Don't overthink this too much.
Thanks for this!

lrt1978 don't think too much into it. I'm sure she was just confirming your next session. My T has been asking me lately too about if I have an appointment scheduled "next week" for the last two weeks which she's never done before. I see it as she cares about me and wants to make sure that she'll see me next week. It could be because I cancelled one but it wasn't that I didn't want to go to session. I was out of town longer than I expected. So I see it as your T caring about you and wanting to clarify with you that you guys will see each other next Friday. It sounds like she's looking foward to seeing you in person. That's good.
Thanks for this!
