I hope I don't jinx myself with that title, but this guy sounded really great just now. I liked him right away. He was easy to talk to. I opened up right away. I told him about ex-T. I told him about the SA and admitted that I still have some unhealthy coping techniques that I employed as recently as um, well, Sunday night. I told him about the BPD stuff. I told him about my sexuality.

I told him about the transference with ex-T and how we never got a chance to work that out. He said transference is complicated but it can always be worked out. He said it sounded like my ex-Ts office was a great safe space for me and now I've lost it and my life's a bit in turmoil right now. (yes!yes!yes!)

He was impressed with how motivated I am and how hard I try. He said it sounds like I have a big heart and I love easily. He understood about polyamory/non-monogamy and my D/s relationships.

Finally, he observed that I sounded a bit like I was interviewing for a job, trying to convince him that I would be the ideal patient (which was exactly what I was doing). He said he would be really interested in working with me!!
Thanks for this!

I am happy for you. You might enjoy reading this column about the World's Best Client. I usually take what this guy has to say with a grain of salt, but I thought you might enjoy it:

LOL ... Thanks hon! "bravo" would be better. "Brava" reads as feminine verb in Spanish and it means really angry/rabid! Which I'm not! :-D

Okay I came home and took a nap and let my brain process it all. Then I started writing. Here are my thoughts: http://findinglillie.wordpress.com/2012/06/12/might-have-a-new-therapist/

I'm SO happy for you!!! I was thinking of you a lot yesterday (particularly in-between my sessions) and wondering how were you were doing!

Are you still going to see the other two Ts you had planned to meet, or are you going to stick with this first one?

Thanks y'all. @bashfulbear no, I cancelled the other appointments. I can always call them back if this doesn't work out.

Here are my thoughts about the new guy: http://findinglillie.wordpress.com/2...new-therapist/

I sent him that link too. but this how I work: heart gets broke I turn to the nearest person with their hand out and I deliver it up again with a little sign hanging off it that says "break me". I like it. :-S
