Today is T day but T is taking off this week. She's going on a minitrip not far away so I'm not as anxious as when she travels far away.

Here are some reasons why missing my session today is okay:

1. It's SO hot and the A/C in her office is poor. She usually puts on a fan, but that's not so helpful. I hate feeling hot and sweaty; it would affect my concentration.
2. Also heat-related. I don't feel like doing much of anything with the weather we're having.
3. I don't miss her as much as usual.
4. My granddaughter is visiting me.
5. I feel good that I haven't emailed her since last Wednesday, not even to say I'll miss her.
6. I don't have to go through those intense emotions I feel before, during, and after therapy.

Anyone want to write their list of reasons why they're okay with missing T this week, if you are in that position?

I am not in that place, yet, but I am going to keep this in mind for when I need a boost while waiting for my next T appointment! Thank you, and inspired by your post!

I don't see my T this week (completely by my choice). Let me see. Not seeing T this week is good because

a. this way I can spend more time with my kids and my hubby (who is taking time off due to the holiday this week).
b. this way my schedule has one less thing on it which is always my goal during the summer.
c. this way I don't have to have another blasted mindfulness discussion with him this week.
d. this way I have a bit of extra cash on hand to spend on fun stuff instead of another bloomin' therapy appointment.

Thanks, Wolfin! I'm pretty inspired by my post too! It's unusual for me not to be upset when my T goes away.

farmergirl: You're ahead of me, but I always knew that. I'd never cancel T by choice. But you gave me another reason: the money! I'm still not caught up with my payments due to my deductible, so at least it's one less session this month.

Another reason I didn't realize until right now. I just had my eyes dilated, and I don't think it would be safe to drive. My H would have to drive me, which wouldn't be so bad, but still, another reason. It's a little blurry to type too but nothing will keep me away from this forum.

I hate getting my eyes dilated; better you than me. Glad to see you finding the bright side of things. Good thinking.

Well, my T offered me an emergency session today because of a huge emotional event in my life. I ended up declining and it feels good to try to process these heavy emotions on my own. I'm managing - it's tough but I'm managing.

I'll see her on Friday so I'll be able to give her an update on how well I used the tools she's given me on how to ride the emotional waves without crashing.

Not driving to my T's house for the past year (a 50 minute drive there, so its....hm... About 90 miles round trip) has saved me a whooooole lot of gas and wear and tear on my car. Of course, ive used a lot of that money on phone bills

I actually see my T this week...haven't seen him in 3 wks though. My adds would have been:
1 - No need to put on makeup
2 - No need to wear long sleeves in the heat
3 - No neck ache from staring at the carpet
4 - No desire for a Do-over afterwards.

BTW - I don't let them dilate me...I have really poor vision without glasses, and all my life I have had Scotomaphobia. (intense fear of going blind)

Two weeks today since last T appointment before the summer; seven weeks to go. It's hard to find anything positive about this break

However, this particular week I'm travelling abroad which is (mostly) rather fun - and if I had seen T today I would not have got to do any of the fun and relaxing things I did do today.
