Well that was certainly interesting. Just got home from t a little bit ago and trying to process everything. I was telling her about the dream I had last night it was pretty violent and I don't want to think about the details right now but it led her to say something I don't even remember what she said - but whatever it was that she said, I started feeling very nervous, so I said I felt nervous, and she told me to go into my body and find the nervous and acknowledge it all that stuff I used to think was mumbo jumbo. So I did what she said and it was in my tummy and as I acknowledged it I started to notice there was some anger too, so of course I had to find where that was in my body and found the anger in my hands and started twisting my pen and then threw it across the room, ah that felt good, was surprised she didn't get mad at me for doing that. So I went and picked it up like little suzy sunshine should. Anyway then she asked again if I wanted to do a sand tray with the anger in my hands and I told her no it might explode I always have to be funny, humor being a top defense mechanism of mine. But I did one anyway and the end result she said was pretty powerful. My hands really got into it today. I scooped all the sand into a mound in the middle of the tray and packed it together tightly and then found all kinds of lovely little beasties on the shelves to have coming out of the sand - snakes, bees, crabs, etc.... and a tombstone. What it actually means, who knows, I was sure having a hard time getting words to come out of my mouth today. Couldn't seem to find the right words to express what was going on in my head. I felt like a little girl for a good part of the session today. That was a first. Wow I blabbed forever. Sorry for the length of the post. I needed to process through today.

Wow! Sounds like you had a very powerful experience today. What do you think you got from it?
Thanks for this!

Love the sand tray!!! I have been thinking about getting one to have at home. I think it would help calm me.

Wow, that sounds so powerful! I love when therapy is surprising. I had a surprising session recently and the feeling of surprise can just be so nice. I loved your description of the mound of sand and the creatures coming out of it.

I have never done a sand tray, but I would like to.
