Wow what a great session today. I went in there feeling pretty crappy and frustrated and mad-at-the-world and seriously ready to quit therapy - told t I felt like I'd made a quantum leap backwards and what's the point in working so hard if it's just going to poof away and then I started bawling. And then we started talking about all the anger I've kept bottled up and how I have the "good girl" thing bad, can't be angry cuz good girls don't get angry, and I felt like I was babbling so instead of trying to talk I did another sand tray. Does anybody else do sandplay as part of their therapy? It's really incredible actually. By the time I finished my latest masterpiece haha and we sat down to talk again I was completely grounded and so much more relaxed than when I'd come in. I told her again what a genius the person was that came up with the whole sandplay therapy thing. Each successive time I have done a sand tray has been more beneficial than the last. The first time I did one I felt so silly and self-conscious with her watching and didn't really 'do' anything just sprinkled the sand around LOL but now it doesn't bother me at all that she's standing there watching I just create away. Seems like she talked more today than usual. Guess I was in a listening mode or something but anyway it was a really good session and so I wanted to share!
