i think that all sounds so postive. i hope my experience with T2 is going to be as good. and i bet the chit chat part will get easier. it's true sometimes we connect more with one T on a personal level than another. but you've only just met so that kind of friendly aspect will improve with time.
Thanks for this!

I haven't even been able to look at this thread to support you, I feel so guilty. I am so relieved things are not completely horrible - that sounds like a bad imitation of stopdog, I don't mean it that way. i'm sorry I haven't been around for this.

I am glad it does not sound all bad with t2 and it is brave to keep going to him. Transitions are not unchallanging.

Hankster - the double negative belongs to all. I am not unhappy when others do it.

Thus far, I am not displeased with T2. I would not be unhappy if he magically morphed into a total clone of T1, but he is not unbearable thus far.

Hmm... not my best work. I really can't talk like that. My hat is off to you stopdog.

Hey pbutton,

I have been in situations very similar to yours of loosing therapists/ mental health workers after building up the relationship and then having to end, I know how scary and painful it can be and my heart goes out to you.

On the positive side, it sounds like T2 is really good and I am thinking that once you get used to them and build up a relationship, that you will work great together and although you don't think it's possible now, you may even eventually find T2 better....but I know you are not at that stage yet. It will be hard not to compare T2 to T1 for a while, and thats ok, it's just how we make sense of things like this .

I know you are kind of dreading the last session with T1, I understand how that is, I have been there too. Perhaps you could give T1 a gift or a card or something to maybe make things feel a bit more positive? However I know it will still be hard.

You have taken the brave step of starting to see someone new, so you are a strong person, it just takes times to adjust but I think you will as T2 sounds very good.

good luck
Thanks for this!

So so glad that T2 is proving to be a good therapist.

Will be thinking of you on Monday. Ending sessions are hard, especially when the situation is so unfair, but like you said- you'll be closer to it being more ok.
Thanks for this!
