My last therapy session was this past wed aug 1st the whole session was sad and confusing to me, she told me i would feel this way because it was an unexpected termination and we were both sad, she cried and that broke my heart she was vulnerable in front of me, she gave me 2 big hugs she wrote comforting words in my journal.

She recommended me to the therapist next to her office she said she would talk to her so that she could at least see me twice even without insurance and then i will be in the new t group until my insurance disablility comes in.

my t told me she will miss me very much and i will miss her as well but for now i feel like i was in surgery and she was the surgeon she opened me up to fix me and then got called away urgently and no other surgeon could finish so i am walking around unstiched and in pain.

I see my new t on aug 14th but you guys understand that as far as opening up to someone else so quickly will be extrememly difficult for me

I'm sorry, I missed why your T is leaving ... it sounds very painful for both of you. I'm glad she is helping you to find someone else, but still very hard ... go gently please

It's a tough situation to be in for sure. I'm going through an expected termination and miss my old T greatly. There's still 3 weeks till my new one and I'm nervous about that as well. I understand what you're going through, and I promise you it will get better. Try to take care of yourself in the meanwhile

I am so sorry to hear you have been left in this situation. Termination that happens abruptly is very difficult to deal with. I hope there was some comfort in knowing that you mean a lot to her and she didnt want to hurt you in any way.
I think your analogy of surgery is really a great way to describe what has happened for you and maybe you could tell that to the other therapist. I know how hard it is to have to end abruptly and they try to get used to someone else. It does take time and I am glad you are not let without anyone, although I am sure at the moment it doesnt feel like much consillation. My heart goes out to you
