So I had my first session with new T today, she is my old T's supervisor. She of course asked if I had been in counselling before and I said I had and for how long...she said gosh thats a long time so how did you find it?
I said, well it worked for a while but then it stopped working...She asked who my old T was, I told her who she was and her face looked shocked...she asked why I think it didn't work out and of course I froze up. I told her I didn't really know so she asked why I think it will work this time?
I said, Because we only have six sessions so we will be keeping it to the point hahahah.. I didn't mention the sudden termination by old t but I worte it down and will read it too her nest week because my mind always goes blank during a session.
Ps, she was wearing a skirt with no tights and had her legs spread wide open...I found this very distracting

Hahaha...sorry, it is probably really immature of me to take that one sentence out of your post and focus on it, but that is funny. And also makes me really glad that my T only wears pants. I do wonder, if you are a T and female, why some Ts are not aware of this? If I was a therapist I would be SO SO cautious if I ever wore a skirt.
But good luck with this new T, and also I think it is good that you are going to tell her why it didn't work with the old T, especially since she knows her. Maybe you can address that you are nervous about the fact that new T is old T's supervisor and how this might affect your therapy? Just a thought.

Don't mothers teach their daughters to cross their legs?
Perhaps T is rebelling against that?

I hope it works for you.

My mother didn't mention it as far as I recall.

I think that she must be aware that you can see her under wear! Especially since I am gay it's very distracting and not in a good way! I don't think they can cross their legs... Something to do with body language. She also doesn't give much eye contact which I find strange too because it looks like she is not listening! But so far she seems a lot more focused and in control of the session. She asks the right questions and formula let me ramble! She is a cbt T

So Ts can't cross their legs but they CAN show their underwear...hmmm . That makes perfect sense lol
Thanks for this!

I think it's possible to keep your legs closed without crossing them. sheesh, I would find that distracting and I'm straight.

Good luck, I hope you get the most out of the six sessions!

Well she wasn't very attractive which is good for me but nevertheless is was hard for me not to peak at her knickers! Six sessions is really not much, Can someone explain what exactly a CBT is? She does things very differently to my other t! She likes to turn things around in a paradoxical way which was quite an interseting approach.

Cognative behavior therapy - a way of changing the way you think. It's about changing your thinking patterns so that instead of the negative pathways you creat positve pathways that your mind goes to to move you in the right direction towards positive experiences and away from negative or depressing ones.

CBT is structured and goal-directed and some people find that very reassuring.
