I'm in my new town (in a different state) and mostly moved into the house I'm renting with another roommate. Tomorrow I'm meeting my new T to get paperwork and get an idea for the fit before our first official appt next week. I'm nervous, and I've been having a tough time at night since I've been in town. The last couple nights, I've cried about missing my former T so there's that to deal with too :/ Oh gosh, this is tough!

I am very happy for you, i hope all goes well. Sounds exciting to start fresh in a new town with a new T, although scary at the same time. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for this!

Hi Rainboots,
I can really understand where you're coming from having just moved to a new state myself! I'll be starting off with a new t very soon so am in the same position. Still miss my old t so much, but excited to see what someone new has to offer. Please keep us posted!

Well first impression was that she was a little late (as in not there until after the time we agreed to meet) and a bit disorganized, but then I reminded myself that my former T was both of those as well sometimes. Besides we didn't have an official appt today anyway and she met with me quite a bit longer than she had emailed about beforehand, which was good. She seems nice and explained about some of the body work she does incl. somatic experiencing, vestibular stuff, neuro feedback, etc. and actually was pretty good (reaction-wise) when I teared up pretty early on. Towards the end of the meeting, I really started crying because I miss my old T. That part is still really tough for me. So overall things went well. It's hard for me to tell though, because with the 2 Ts I was attached to (of many Ts I've seen) and did my best work with, my last one I loved right away and the other one I did NOT like for awhile. Next week will be the first real appointment, so I'm a little nervous about that since she works differently than the cbt & dbt I'm used to.

Thank you for the update. That sounds pretty encouraging. It's so hard though, I know.
