I saw a T1 for over 3 years. Thought it was all my fault we couldn't communicate. Tried to reach out and kept hitting a wall. Wasn't sure if it was my fault or hers. Concluded it was mine because she's the expert.

Saw a new T2. Just to test the waters. He is great. Charges the same fee and meets with me 30-45 minutes longer. So blunt, so persistent, really a better fit.

I talked about a secret to T2 within like 5 sessions for that T1 was always so afraid to touch. I thought it was me but now I think it was her. And I like myself more.

There's hope.

Finding a T who is a good fit for you is crucial. This one really does sound promising, and most importantly of all he's made you hopeful. Thanks for sharing the good news, and good luck!

Now I'm starting to feel how hard it is to have a T who ACTUALLY PRESSES ME TO RESPOND AND ANSWER THINGS. Lots of staring at the floor and anxiety. But I think it'll be worth it if it helps me. I don't even know what's wrong. Maybe nothing is wrong. Uhgh. Anyway. So glad to have switched. Thanks everybody.

Sounds like you made a really good call. Although in therapy we can often bring bad feelings about ourselves into the room, therapy should not be the cause of us walking out of the room feeling bad (or worse) about ourselves.
