Not doing good tonight. Last evening of the course I've attended over the last week; I should be downstairs and socialise. But I think I'll go to bed instead, and hopefully I'll be asleep by the time my roommate returns. I can't deal with talking to anybody tonight, I think. I tried going down to the bar/social area but had to fight back a panic attack. Stupid idiot Apt, we hates her forever.

TTGB: I can always recognize Philadelphians by the way they say "water". Somehow it always sounds like "wood-er" to me.

Wiki: On behalf of all Bostonians, thank you for NOT saying anything about stopping a vehicle on the Harvard campus.

Oh, I don't care about the whole accent thing. I really am just chicken. My T told me she would want to visit this site to see what triggers me within the posts. So I'm afraid of getting pegged.

Sally. You are not hearing things. We do pronounce it Wooder. And the street names. Eg..10th street. We say tent street. We drop the TH sound. LOL

Between this and my never having heard of "water ice" before, the first time someone from Philly started talking about it I was SO CONFUSED because I thought she was saying "wood rice", which sounded extremely unappetizing.

TTGB...do you really use the term "water ice"? That's funny, what is it in regards to...ice water or ice cubes?

Water ice is finely crushed ice and then sweetened with a flavor syrup. Could be chocolate, strawberry, rootbeer, blackcherry, watermelon, and some other flavors.

Its kind of like a snow cone. Only in a cup. There are woorder ice stands everywhere in PA and NJ. A big chain is Rita's. But in Philly they have a lot of independent ones that taste a lot better than rita's. But here is a rita's link

But they don't come out of machines like you would get at the local convenience store. They scoop it out of big tubs Its a little more solid than a slushie.
