My t almost always dresses all in black. I don't know if that's just a t thing, or her pref or what. I mention it sometimes telling her she needs to add a splash of color etc. I guess I was feeling a little devilish or something today so I decided to mess with her a little and I dressed in total black from head to toe. (Which I NEVER do. I like bright colors!!) So one of the first things she says to me today when I got there was "Are you making fun of me?" I grinned at her and said "Maybe." The shared laughter put us right back into our usual comfortable/collaborative space after her being out of town for a week. I brought in several dreams to work on today, and continue to be amazed at how they start off being a bunch of jumbled meaningless sentences but after we've sat with them together and talked about the symbolism and all that good stuff I walk away with a ton of useful notes to ponder on and work with on my own between sessions. (And to let them work on me, also, as my t is fond of saying!) After working on my dreams with her for goodness almost 9 months now I'm to the point where I don't keep anything back I bring in every last detail cuz you just never know what's gonna have meaning and what isn't!

And lastly today, to complete my devilish mood with her I paid her in all $5's. Ha! She laughed, which I knew she would. I told hubby when he was giving me trouble for wanting to give her all $5's, that I knew she would think it was funny and he accused me & t of having a strange relationship. well that much is true.....!

But I wouldn't have it any other way.
Thanks for this!

Your relationship with your T sounds great! I love those kinds of inside jokes.

My T and I have our own quirky things, too. We have a thing where, when X happens, we say "X clearly just wants to wear my underwear."

scorpiosis!

Do ya'all ever wonder if you'll get to a point in therapy that you feel so good about who YOU are and stuff that you'll decide you should charge the t for getting to spend time with YOU? I got a glimpse of a me with an attitude like that today. It was very brief, but it was there.
