I got an email back from T with an appointment time for this week and haven't seen her in almost 4 weeks due to me moving and office moving and construction. Part of me wants to respond "Yes!" or "That sounds great." or "That time is perfect.", but I don't want to sound/her to think I'm too excited to see her, so I think I'll just stick with "That time works good."
Thanks for this!

(((dolphin))) I get it. But you know, letting her know how happy you are about it might not be such a bad thing.

I've told T that our sessions are the highlight of my week.

If you're excited to see her, let her know that! There's nothing wrong with that at all.

Maybe excited wasn't the right word, maybe I'm just glad I finally get to talk to t after a few weeks of emailing back and forth in attempts to find a day/time that we're both available and a somewhat functional office is also available. Maybe I'm just glad we get to talk before the hectic schedule of the year starts. It's a little bit of a relief. I don't know if there is a better word to describe it.

You could say it's a relief to finally have an appointment glad you do

I have told the one I see not to get all puffed up at my effusive responses to her. Perhaps you could say something like "I am not displeased to have an appointment"

Don't do it! It's a trick - stopdog will bill you royalty fees, she has patent pending on the use of double negatives (just kidding) I saw it on Canadian Dragon's Den, some guy copyrighted "Yo mama" (it's okay, I spelled it differently) (not kidding)

I agree with what the others have said - no need to contain your excitement or relief! Ts are human too, and they like to know that the work they do is appreciated and useful. When my T has been able to make a schedule adjustment to accommodate an extra appointment for me, she get's an all caps text back with a huge smiley face

I don't know if you are joking or not. I understood you keep your T at arm's length.

....I think ole stopdog keeps *the therapist* at arm's length - but in a very tongue-in-cheek way. I'll bet *the therapist* sees right through all the bs, but plays along for stopdog's sake.

I just love stopdog. endlessly entertaining
