Ts seem to be endogamous, but maybe that's an illusion.

Let's find out!

This is referring to exT. I know way too much about his family, so much in fact that I have lost a little respect. Sad. I really wish he didn't disclose as much as he die.

His wife is a social worker for child services. She smokes and has a weight problem. I have never seen a pic of her, but seriously don't care, I have always seen T as a treatment provider, there really wasn't any romantic, friendly or fatherly transference at all.

16% so far. It's looking good for the myth, as Adam Savage says.

my therapist is a psychologist of a school with 1000 children and his wife is a psychologist at another private school in the area. I actually went to the school where my therapist is now, but he wasnt there when i was there. interesting huh?

Only 37 votes on this poll. That's well below average. I wonder why? Are people reluctant to say they don't know?

Nevertheless, I think we have enough evidence to show that T's do pair off with other Ts.

Is this simply because people in their early twenties are likely to marry their classmates? T-School as marriage market?

(I met my wife at university so this makes sense to me.)

....UHM... well that is good research... lets just say most Tīs do couple up based on that result?? That is evidence for sure...:-)
Why are you asking.... bored perhaps...??

Oh just to answer your original question. None of my Tīs have been married or in a relationship with another T.

I would think 2 T's being married would be an ego fight.
Thanks for this!

Oh my goodness, just imagine all the processing. Nothing would ever get done. And neither would ever answer a question. It would be like the tennis scene from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead.

WT- Did you buy milk?
HT-Did you say milk was out?
WT-What did you have on your cereal yesterday?
HT - why are you so concerned with my meals?
etc
Thanks for this!

I thought it was kind of an interesting area to look at. I like looking for patterns though.

Just bored.

I have an enquiring mind. I noticed that several people mentioned T-couples and I wondered how prevalent it was. Since that was something I could test, I tested it.

Myth confirmed. T-couples are more common than they would be by chance.

So now I know that this is true, I seek an explanation.

I think this is a fairly small sampling to declare myth confirmed. But it is not all that odd of a theory - mds couple with mds, lawyers with lawyers, social workers with social workers or nurses, teachers with teachers etc. It is not unusual to couple with those you are in school with and work with.

Mythbusters don't go in for large samples! (This is probably their biggest weakness as scientists.)

No, you don't! You don't have a random sample of the population!
(I know you know this, and I know you're not being entirely serious. I'm just messing with you.)

Seriously, though, I would not have expected anything else. There are lots of linguist couples, and medical doctor couples, and historian couples... you share a passion for something, and you speak the same language, and you can discuss work in a completely different way than you would be able to otherwise. Of course it's more likely you'd fall in love with someone like that -- even apart from the fact that you are simply more likely to meet up with other people with your education/job.

After 20 months seeing my T, I just learned this week that she is indeed married. And it only came up because it was part of a story she was telling me that related to my issues. I haven't felt brave enough to ask her anything about her personal life and anything I learn has been slowly let out. Now, I'd love to know if she has children. But, I have a strong suspicion that her partner is not a T.
