Yesterday in my alcohol substance abuse group the t asked certain questions and expected u to be honest so i told her yes i do think about suicide and a year and a half ago i had a plan but my former t and i processed it we shred the plan together and i signed a contract, i think she is a new therapist because she is so textbook about everything so on break she called me to her office and saw my past history on the computer from my former t and asked if she should be worried about me which i told her no, she told me i needed to attend an extra group today and if i was a no show the crisis center would call my house and if i didnt pick up they would show up to my house, i tell u sometimes honesty is not the best policy

Not trouble; you are finally getting the attention and help you need. I'm sure the "extra" will report that things are fine now? Keep on being honest; the only alternative doesn't get you what you want or need, just avoids.

Yeah, being honest is still the best policy.

Try not to think about it as a punishment.
They just want to take care of you.

IDK- I think she could be overreacting- if it's really ONLY thinking about SUI. I for one would be really angry if I got "punished" for being honest- cause she didn't offer the extra group she requested you to come there (what about your personal life?) plus she accompanied it with a threat. If I were you I'd have a word with her.

Honesty is still the best policy (though not always the easiest one) but we have to find the right ppl to be honest with...

It isn't punishment. It is simply them looking out for your safety. If all is well, I'm sure that will be what she sees and that will be the end of it. They just want to be sure you are truly safe.

They probably do that for everyone who mentions suicide and having a plan, even if its just mentioned in passing. When I used to work they used to do that too, in every place that I worked (in drug and alcohol). They apparently do it because you never know who might just mention it in passing and if its ignored, they might go home and top themselves. If they do this process for everyone then in the medium/long term they save some lives that way.
