So, my 1st p-doc appointment is today at 4 pm US Central. I could really use some pocket riders if anyone wants to come. I'm completely terrified of this appointment and I know it's going to be a struggle just to get myself there!

Thank you all. It's been a rough day so far...I leave in about 20 minutes. I know it'll only take me about 40 minutes to get there, but I'm leaving myself a full hour, so that if I get there early, I can sit in the car and do some deep breathing to calm down enough to get me in the door. I've spent the morning just trying to relax, and the last 45 minutes just petting and playing with my dogs. Not much work is getting done...I'll be scrambling tomorrow, but I can't concentrate.

Well, my appointment started half an hour late...so that was really stressful, because I had to sit in the waiting room for an additional half an hour. I was super jumpy and anxious by the time I was called back.
The p-doc was really nice, calm, understanding, helpful. I agreed to take a prescription home and think about getting it filled. Then, on the way home, I decided to just stop and fill it. Next step is to actually take the meds. I called T right after my appointment and talked to her for a bit, then sat in the parking lot for a while, then hit rush hour traffic on the way home, so I stopped and had dinner to let the traffic thin out a little. The p-doc asked me about one topic that I find difficult to talk about, and I shut down, and fought off tears...he told me that it was okay, we didn't have to talk about it right then. I managed to collect myself and we moved on. I was very anxious the entire time, all my defenses were up, and it was hard to stay present, but I managed. I go back in 3 weeks (assuming I start the meds) for a check in.
