so my group t called my pdoc and they have decided not to dispose of my abilify as it would be such a waste my group t wants me to bring ALL my meds on wednesday and the nurse in that building (not my pdoc) will have a planner every week i go and they will give me a packet of 5 day supply of my abilify zoloft and lithium, I still dont trust her so I will take inventory of all my meds and make the nurse sign it saying that she will not dispose of my extra abilify what do you guys think
My h is frustrated he wants me to stop all meds and go back to normal he says its my fault that all this is happening because i opened my big mouth and told them how hopeless i felt and was considering ending it, my h says from now on to keep my feelings to myself he hates therapists

Sweepy, I think keeping your feelings to yourself would be counter-productive. But sometimes there are consequences to our thoughts and actions..but these are consequences where your Doctors just want to make sure you are safe. And that is not a bad thing to make sure you are safe. As I said yesterday, I have never heard of T's doing this. I thought the whole idea of disposing of 100's of dollars worth of meds was ludicrous, but if they are just going to hold onto them..then thats better.

Your husband is wrong and probably frustrated. Having them keep the meds and dispense in non-lethal amounts is a good plan. I agree that you should inventory what meds and amounts you hand over and check each week just to rest your weary mind a bit. Legally, those meds are your property and they cannot dispose of them without your permission. They know that.

Why will the nurse only give you a 5 days supply instead of enough for a week at a time? It doesn't make sense. You will need meds for every day of the week, won't you?
I think an inventory is a good idea. I am a nurse and when a patient brings in their own meds for us to dispense, we are required to take an inventory when we first check the meds in. There is a form for this, etc. Each time we give out meds, we have to revise the inventory to reflect the new total that is left. It's an orderly process, designed in part to help keep patient meds safe and safeguard against staff stealing them. Hopefully, they will have a similar system in place at the group T's office. Please ask the nurse about this so she can allay your fears or help make a plan that will satisfy you that your meds will be safely kept and monitored.

Oh yeah, the same thought crossed my mind and I forgot to mention that. Insist on a week at a time so you don't have to go back more than once a week to get your meds. Two days more pills won't make any difference.
