Let's keep it to the point of welcoming, or getting to know, Jamie please.

Thanks,

Thanks everyone. What a lively discussion!

Yes, therapists are people too, and have our own stuff going on as well. I myself have suffered from GAD for most of my life, now thankfully under control (never taken medication for it, only done my own CBT therapy).

And I am very much a female! An introduction

Thanks again everyone. Have a great Saturday night!

Hi Jamie and Welcome.

I don't express my opinions too much--but here goes ..... I believe it's great to have a diverse member group on a forum.... that way, we get so many angles and views. After all..... like someone has already said... we are all human... no ONE better than the other.
I look forward to reading all you have to say and who knows --maybe I can help you in some way!! An introduction

(PS.... I know an awesome therapist in Oregon.... wonder if you know this person?.... perhaps I could PM you?)

Welcome and nice to meet you shrinkjamie. An introduction

I think people are just people. It's just my opinion, but it does not matter to me if a therapist gives support or if a poet gives support. I feel that everyone supports and contributes as they can and each person brings their own life experiences to the table regardless of their profession. I'm glad for both the poets and the therapists in my life. An introduction

Welcome, Jamie! I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with your presence here. On the contrary, maybe I'll garner some knowledge from you to help me. This life is a constant journey and a learning experience. An open mind is a wonderful thing and I'd like to think that I try to keep mine open most of the time. An introduction

Oh my, my question was just trying to know Jamie better. I am not uncomfortable with his presence at all. I guess I started a panic stampede or something. So Jamie, tell us more about yourself, what is your area of expertise? Any modalities you prefer? Any special interests? Good to have you on board.

I consider myself a Humanistic therapist, and I use many different treatment modalities, depending on what my clients would like to work on. I have a special interest in treating anxiety disorders, as I myself have had GAD my entire life. I see adults and adolescents in private practice, and I also run an adult anxiety group.

I absolutely love what I do...I am passionate about the human spirit, and about helping people. My clients also teach me a lot, and for that I am eternally grateful. I am very passionate about mental health. An introduction

Thanks for welcoming me aboard!
