Well, I am still recovering from my procedure yesterday but it went really good. There were only a few little tears. When I got there they were waiting for me with warm blankets, soft music, sedation meds. After the medicine started to kick in my surgeon came in and said, "hey favorite patient!" and he ruffled my hair! He let the meds kick in and then he put in the local anesthetic. Then we just talked and he cut as much of them out as he could this time and sutured back together the long way. It took a couple of hours to do all of them on both arms. I made him and his nurse chocolate chip cookies and green smoothies and they really liked that. I actually told them the story of being tasered and taken to the psych ward the last time and he was like, "you are the first person I know that has been tasered." LOL. He said that made me even more the favorite patient now!! When it was all done I slept the rest of the day probably both combo of medications and stress. I have bandages on and he said to leave them on until next time I see him in two weeks. All of the stitches are disolvable. Only problem is all of the bandages are bloody. eeeww. He said we will repeat this whole thing in two or three months once these ones are all healed over. Unless he thinks we need to shift plans to the skin graft. He said it will just take time to wait and see what we need to do next. My arms are all black and blue and look deformed from swelling and puckering and pulling of skin. I guess I imagined them looking great right away so that took me by surprise but I know that wasn't a realistic expectation. hmmmm what a sigh of relief. I am exhausted but happy.

I love hair ruffling. Esp when you never really had it done to you as a kid, it lets you know you can relax right now, you're in good hands, and somehow your innocent joy is being acknowledged? And maybe shared, or enjoyed, or delighted in.
Thanks for this!
