I approacched my mom about my worries. And she said she was so happy that I came to her about this that this is the step to my recovery and that she had noticed that I was depressed and this is the first step to clearing my mind of it all.

She's making me an appointment for next wednesday and we'll carry from there. She said after we get my blood results, she'll work on transferring me to a female doctor so that I feel more comfortable, and this is an amazing step for me to make and that it will be nice to be able to clear my mind because its surely clouded with a lot of things. and that if I have problems, this will be the help that I need.

In short, guys, Im getting help. Im going to start seeing a psychologist for my problems and hopefully get on medication that helps me.

There is so many things I have to tell my psychologist. I am a bit worried that she'll tell my mom things. Im 17, so can she do that since Im a minor?

Sorry you haven't received any responses on this yet.

Good for you for getting help. It takes a lot of courage to do that.

As far as telling your mom things, I really don't know. You might want to ask the psychologist about that. Maybe someone here in the forum might know as well.
Thanks for this!

Wow, what a beautiful mom you have. I love how she responded to you! She cares how you are feeling and I imagine she's happy for you to get help.

I agree - it is an amazing step for you. I very happy for you. I hope you find the best therapist and that you feel much better soon!
Thanks for this!

That's fantastic that you asked your mom for help! I know how difficult it can be to put yourself out there in that way.

As far as the therapist talking with your mom, I think it depends on the state you live in. In most states, if you're under 18, your parents have the right to access your medical records. But that doesn't necessarily mean that the therapist will automatically tell your mom everything that you talk about. Definitely something to talk with the therapist about.
Thanks for this!
