Two of my ts have used them. I din't really find them helful, they used them after particularly hard sessions. I don't beleive in angels but since my ts never bothered to ask me and thought for some reason they would be helpful, I am just wondering if any of your ts use them?

Neither my T nor I are Christian, and we are of different faiths...so, no, she's never given me an angel card. It would actually bother me if a T presumed to do so, without first checking my own beliefs.

It did bother me because they both knew I am not a christian and have no interest in angels.

I don't know what angel cards are. The one I see is not christian and I don' t know if the religion she is even has them really. And I am pretty much areligious so I don' t think I would find anything with angels useful.

Both Ts I have seen were both christian therapists and neither use angel cards. I don't know what those are.

I haven't heard of Angel cards before, but my daughter's T used Soul cards with her a couple of times. This is a link:
http://www.touchdrawing.com/3SoulCards/SCmain.html

I have seen a Soul cards deck and they have beautiful artwork and are quite evocative. I liked to look at them. They don't have sayings on them, just pictures.

In general, something about the card format appeals to me. Maybe because they're small and focused so my brain doesn't get overwhelmed. My T has a deck of cards in his waiting room from The Four Agreements. I liked these too. (I have always assumed a client gave him these as a gift.)

Is an angel card like a prayer card? I have no idea what that is, either.

from looking them up they appear to be new age and not in any way connected to Christianity or what a Christian counselor would ususally be doing.

Button was it the supervisor and the old T that was supervised by her that used them or a different group of t's? just curious as to why two of them would use them, or why any therapist would for that matter. If they had used them in my session I wouldn't be seeing them a second time

Have you let them know you don't like it?

Angel cards are sort of like tarot cards. There are 32 angels and they all look after us supposedly in some way. Like angel Gaybriel is in charge of yoir creativity so if you have writers block you would pray to him to help you get your writing back on. If you ask the a question the cards are supposed to answer.

Yes tigergirl it was the T1 and now her supervisor. Maybe they tbought it would help me but I prefer to rely on facts and science not hocus pocus nonsense. I didnt tell them I didnt like hthem because I just let them think they were helping me. I know its wrong but I am working on communication and expressing my needs.

is this what they told you? there usage isn't from what you described with angel Gabriel and creativity. I hope you can let your current t know it doesn't help so you don't have to use them again if it isn't something you like

I've never even heard of them, but I can certainly recognize the gesture of trying to help.

Personally, I would not view their use as offensive - but I tend not to be tied to any particular theology - even if its the absence of a theology.

I would give the cards only the attention that I thought they deserved.

Seems like this could become an energy waster pretty quickly.

Yes, my therapist used angel cards with me when I was going through a crisis in 2011. I actually bought the same pack of cards for Christmas as I found them helpful. T has also given me Doreen Virtue meditation CD's to borrow also. (My therapy is not linked to religion)
