Hi everyone. I should be studying. I'm not getting much done at a time. I've done so little work that I have no idea how I'll manage the assignments, tests, and exams that I've still got to do.

And my mood is plummeting fast. Such fun.

Wiki - Love the pic. Looks so peaceful in the still of a picture. I live about an hour from the shore, but I rarely get there. Maybe once or twice a year, if I'm lucky. I really need to get out more.

Mornin, couch peeps!

My cat is making it very difficult to be on the computer. He seems to like to find his way between me and the laptop...which is too cute considering he's not typically a lap cat.

I am meeting a friend for coffee this morning....she texted asking if I could make it around 11:30 AM cuz she's going back to sleep. Works for me!

I gotta make some chocolate pretzels to include in a donated winter themed gift basket for a church function. Gotta place a grocery order for my mom and pick it up, since she's sick. Got some laundry, bill paying and there's always cleaning to do.

Luckily, nothing too major planned for today, so I'm gonna try to make it a peaceful time.

My cat was making it difficult for me to be on the computer just before too. She gets really insistent on sitting on someone's lap at times and if you don't let her she knocks things over, scratches the furniture, or jumps in places that she know will get the most attention, like scrambling to get behind the computer amongst the wires.

I live about 5 minutes walk from the beach and probably have never lived much further away than that. I don't think I could cope with suddenly being far away from it. It's such a part of life. I don't actually stop there that often, but I will take the dog a swimming sometimes, and I drive past it or at least see it every time I leave the house. Our neighbors have a fantastic sea view but they're up above us. We need a second story (if only).

I am chilling today...kind of. Daughter and I will take the girls to visit the groomer to get their nails done. They love her.

I have lived a stones throw from the Atlantic my whole life, yet I still gasp when there is snow. It seems so all powerful when snow and ice are there...I will post a pic from last year below. Takes my breath away. I know it isn't as arctic here as other places, but it never fails to remind me of my frailty.

omg one of my cats does the same thing. he doesn't scratch at the furniture but he will get up in front of the TV and scratch at the screen .or start clawing our banana trees. in the morning when he wants us up he walks around the bed lightly clawing at the mattress.not hard just enough to make noise and then he knocks things over also

Good morning everyone! I been up most the night and find myself with quite a bit of energy today. Hmmmmmmmm. Must've been all that talking I did last night! Thanks again!

Wiki- LOVE the pic. It looks cold, but so beautiful.

Looks as though everyone has gotten a bit of snow over the past day or so. We got a dusting last night. It covered the roads, but will be gone by this afternoon. Be careful out there today people!

Granite and Mue- I love it when there's a good plan for the day. I should come up with one of those!

Granite- your husband made bread? That's awesome! I love homemade bread right out from the oven, with butter on it. Maybe I'll make that part of my plan for the day. It sounds so good! If I do that, then I should make homemade chicken soup. That's be good on a day like this too!

See...... having a plan IS fun!

Nightlight- what are you studying? I've thought about going back to school but have determined I'm just too old. If I went back though I think I'd study law. Keep your head up there- you're gonna make it through all of this. ALL of it.

Good morning Tilly May.

Sconnie be careful shoveling out there. Don't throw your back out. It'sbeen known to happen to the best of us!

Gotta go get in the shower. I have T today.

That's seriously fantastic Wiki. It doesn't snow where I am. Well it did amazingly snow a number of times just one winter, which was crazy. But basically we never get snow and we sure don't get snow at the beach!

haha ...studying psychology. I must be crazy. I wanted to when I was younger (failed school and left early). Never thought I'd return to study and went off the idea of psychology for a long time. When I first started studying, I began with something that I thought was sensible...and finally realised I couldn't do it, or at least I had to take a psychology paper just to test it out. I decided that I didn't need to let the degree...force me to think in a way I didn't want to, I guess. I could use the knowledge I gained in a way that sat right with me. It turned out to be what I enjoyed the most. So, psychology it is.

Good luck with T Karebear!

This current therapist that I am seeing does a 5 minute "wrap-up" sort of thing at the end of session that I find most helpful. She just reminds me of the key things we talked about focusing on. I leave with my "feet on the ground". I have never had a t do that before, and I was wondering how common it is. She isn't totally cbt, she is psycho-dynamic as well, but I like the bit of cbt that she adds in.

I actually HATE when my T does that....because he poses it as a question to me. "What did you take from today's session?"...He wants to be sure to understand what I am leaving the session with, but I hate being put on the spot and questioned like that. I usually don't have an answer for him cuz I freeze. Gah!

That one I see talked about doing that about a year and a half ago and said she would but has never actually done it.

Granite- you're a sweetheart. thanks so much for always being there for me. Veggie barley soup sounds yummy too! I love homemade soups.

Nightlight- I lived in Australia for a short time back in the early 90's. We stopped in New Zealand for a vacation on the way back to the states- absolutely ADORED it there. Love the customs and the people.

How much more time left for the psych degree? It'd be interesting to study it if just to understand how it works.
