I was looking for my book of Robert Frost poems this morning because I'm working on learning a new poetic form and need to borrow some lines from a favorite poet. Anyway, I found the book, and inside it I found some stuff I had typed up for therapy last March. (I had lent t the book back then, so I guess when she brought it back to me I stuck these papers in it.) Anyway one of them was a letter I had written to t at that time, that I never gave her but talked about the contents instead, and I re-read it just now and I sound so YOUNG. Isn't that funny? It was only a year ago, not even a full year ago. But I sound so psychologically young in the letter - that's a cool thing because if I wrote her a letter today it would sound very different - I feel so very different from the person who wrote that letter. It's amazing. Absolutely amazing. Just thought I'd share!
![]() It was also after the first time we just sat in silence for a few minutes - I told her how nervous I was sitting there feeling my feelings and not talking and how I wished I could crawl under the blanket on the couch and hide. I've really grown from that place - to being able to take in and realize the feelings of acceptance coming from her and having those same feelings of acceptance for myself. Well I gotta head to work now but I wanted to share this. It was cool to find. |

Doesn't that make your day, to discover something like that? How cool for you.

I like fences make good neighbors but I hate that one about the stopping in the snow without a farm house near and horse thinking things queer.
Which is not the point of your post, but it is what I thought about R. Frost poetry. But I am glad you see a difference and that it seems a difference you are happy about. Last edited by stopdog; Feb 14, 2013 at 12:38 PM. |
