Hi Everyone,
When I have a lot of spare time I often go through the archive of this forum and read posts from when I wasn't a member. It helps me get to know people on here better, who have been on longer than I have and also get a sense of what issues have been brought up in the past and how the community has responded.
I noticed that there were a fair amount of people who still had their accounts open but who I haven't seen post since I've come on here. And there have been people I've met while on here that still have their accounts up but also have stepped back.
These people may have moved on to other things, or for whatever reason just don't feel they need or want to post anymore. But I just thought I'd say a friendly hello and that I was thinking of you all today. You're an important part of this community though you don't post, you're still there silently contributing by reading and thinking supportive thoughts about others here.
(smile) Bye for now.

That's really nice, Adel. Thanks!

I read a lot more than I post, usually because I don't feel like I have much worth contributing. Still, I get so much out of it, and even if people don't really know who I am, I still feel like part of the group. (I guess that's sort of weird, but whatever!)

Anyway, thanks again. It was nice of you to say this!

Hi Lola,
I agree with you about having a place to encourage newcommers/ people who haven't signed up yet and to post to those no longer members or taking a break.
I'm trying to remember if I lurked before joining. Actually I don't think so. I think I read a lot though before I started posting.

Thanks for this thread! Its been a long time since I posted and I've been trying to get up the courage to sign back in and post again. This thread gave me the "in" I needed because I'm not very confident in my ability to contribute to most of the threads. Last year, I lurked for awhile until I finally got up the courage to sign up, posted a little bit, and then got scared and ran back into my shell. Such is my pattern with everyone...nothing to do with anyone here...and I'm trying really hard to change that. I really do appreciate the people who share their journeys here. Its an inspiration to me and lots of other "lurkers" I'm sure.

I read the archives too! Mostly in the romantic subforum because that was my issue that made me join. But I was very heartened to read you did this too. It's like doing your homework. It's funny. Anyway I am thrilled to see the responses, thanks Adel.

Thanks for the hugs and welcomes! I too thought I couldn't post the way everyone else posted. I was sure everyone else would say things better than me, and that's kept me from posting. But I've decided after reading a lot here that everyone contributes no matter how eloquently they say things or what their point of view is. Different people and different personalities and different ways of saying things add to the depth of this forum and I think that's why it helps so many people.

I feel the same way. But your point gives me more confidence about posting more.

Hi Everyone,
Aww, I'm so glad this thread is getting so many positive responses!
Ellie, I'm touched that my thread helped you come out of hiding and post. Yes I think everyone contributes something no matter how they say things.
Thanks everyone for the good thoughts.

I still lurk among you all but struggle with posting. Thank you for acknowledging older members who still struggle with communication.

I haven't been as active on the board lately due to life issues (taking care of my mom who just got out of the hospital 2 weeks ago).....Although I have internet access, I feel so guarded and tense in my childhood home, so it's difficult to come to PC and open up.

I'm hoping I will regain a sense of normalcy in the near future so I can go back to being a regular here. (( HUGS ))

It's good to hear from you Southpole, and MU!
MU, I'm sorry you're mom's sick and I understand about feeling guarded and tense in your parent's house. I would feel the same way if I was at mine.
Yeah, I hope Farmergirl's ok.
I miss goingtogetthere, and tentative connection.
