I have my second app with my pdoc Tuesday, and I want it to go better than the first one. I have a real hard time talking with people but brought note( which I think she read but didn't comment on.) I pretty much just sat their, and answer questions. One of my problems, is when she ask if had friends I just answer yes but later I realized I basicly lied without meaning too. I have two friends who I sometimes talk and go months without see, how can I fix that mistake without her thinking I outright lied. I hate lying and didn't really think when I said yes.
I thought of talking notes again cause when I'm nervous I get so confused and can't remember what I need to say but this time read by notes? I also have to say I stop talking my one med, abilify, cause I couldn't take the side affect. I called her about one she said cut it in half and see if that work, it didn't so I cut it half again and again till I feel stopping was best for me. Not sure, how that going to go? Any advice would help...

Hi Lilithlee!
Do not be too upset with yourself about the "friends" answer. Just explain that you wanted to give the pdoc the best answer but you answered too quick and explain as you have done above. If you that taking written notes to the therapist helps you feel more relaxed, keep doing it. Sometimes I forgot to talk about important things because I concentrated too much on answering the pdoc's questions. abilify-I suppose that pdoc thinks reducing the dose will stop any side effects. You did good ![]()

Yeah I think friends is not a yes or no answer. Compared to people who really don't have any friends, this is a lot. Compared to people who can't blow their nose without tweeting about it - maybe not so much. Ts really want to know an essay type answer, not multiple choice.

Keep in mind that she isn't looking for a "right" answer. You can add to what you said the first time about friends, telling her that you thought more about it after the appointment.
The same way, you can let her know about the medication and that you couldn't tolerate it so you stopped it. Medication is recommended by doctors; taking it is completely up to the patient. Sure, taking notes is a great idea. I do that when I go to see my medical doctor because I don't go often and I don't want to forget anything. Good luck! ![]() |
