Mine does a lot of play therapy. I imagine the jeans are useful for sitting on the floor.

My T tends to wear neutral colors...sweaters, sweater vests....He's color blind, so his wife picks out his clothes for him to wear each day. LOL.

I don't understand why that would be over the line. You can always ask - can't you?

I just realized that's exactly why my T wears jeans all the time. However, she wears skirts in the summer.
Thanks for this!

I love the way my T dresses. Slacks, shirt (duh), jewelry and cardigan or jacket. She looks so professional and yet nice that I want to borrow her wardrobe. And the fact that it's often from a thrift store makes me doubly impressed since that's where I've found my nicest pieces of designer wear. (since that's all I can afford)

OMG my T always wore black when I was still going to her office here in town for appointments. It got so ridiculous week after week that one time I went in dressed in black from head to toe myself and she asked me as we were walking down the hall to her office "Are you making fun of me?" I replied with a huge grin "Probably!" I'd asked more than once why she always wore black and she would never answer the question. She moved out of state back in November so we have phone sessions now. I don't know if she still wears all black or not LOL I should ask her.

My T is quite 'alternative' in her dress which suits me really well as i am the same really. It's one of the things that helped me warm to her i think.

Sorry Lola. Just trying to point out the contrast there.

My T usually wears pants-suits with a nice blouse and heels. If not a pants-suit, she'll have on slacks and a blazer with a blouse and heels. It always neutral colors or muted colors.

My T wears the business casual dude's uniform... dark shoes, slacks, button down. Maybe a sweater. Pretty much always blue and black tones, except for one orange sweater that I really like.

There is this one sweater, though. I hate it. I hate it so much. For a while I thought he was going to stop wearing it, but it's back. It is so ugly.

Count me as another person living in an area where wearing lots of black is not unusual. Still noticeable, so I think the idea of wearing the same color all the time so as NOT to draw attention is rather misguided, but no one would think much about it if you wore black all the time around here. One of the higher ups where I work wears black almost all the time, although he's been mixing in more navy and gray recently. He always wears funky bright socks, though, which I like about him.

She wears dark colors and neutrals. She has stylish shoes and boots though.

My T wears a lot of layered clothing, light colors and lace, at least at the office. She always looks nice! At home, however, her clothes are so weird!! (I know this, because my T is my friend's step mom) She wears weird purple dresses with pink leggings and colored socks? I must say I prefer her office look, haha.

I wish my t would wear more. SHe always wears short dresses and high heels and sits with her legs open.

or they really like black or live in some big city where anything but black gets dirty soon...

and ew at open legs. I'd prefer black on black on black.

My psychologist always has a low cut dress, leggings and a cardigan :|a I really like it, actually. Then there's the glasses always on top of her head.

My other therapist (male) always wears polo shirts.

Have you said so?
Anything can be a trigger and triggers are worth pursuing.

My T dresses kind of smart casual, lots of jeans. Agree that clothes can be a trigger - he has this black and white shirt that triggered me once but I only realised it was the shirt about 3 weeks later and he hasn't worn it again yet. Sometimes he looks quite dapper, eg wearing all black with a colourful decorative scarf.

Not sure about his socks, though. Recently I noticed he was wearing beige socks, presumably to match all the other beige stuff in his room.

Eh, I wouldn't call it a trigger. It's damn ugly but doesn't interfere with therapy. Just my respect for his aesthetic sense .
