Is it usually a relatively short process, or does this sort of therapy take a long time?

I think it depends on the client and what issues they need to work through, how deep it all goes... but I wouldn't say it is typically a short term therapy like CBT is designed to be.

I think Justsomegirl pretty much said everything in post above. It really does depend on what the clients issues are and how the t and client propose to work through them.

Yep, it depends on the client and the therapist. It isn't typically a "brief therapy."

Humanistic therapists believe that people have a natural drive toward health, self-actualization and creativity, and that the therapist's role is to facilitate a natural process. They tend to be non-pathologizing, believe strongly in empathy and in treating the whole person.
Thanks for this!
