At my last session my T said something that upset me and I withdrew into myself and shut him out. . After that I didn't understand anything he was saying . I felt as if my head was detached from my body. It was weird but not uncomfortable . I was disoriented and dizzy. I felt buzzed. He tried to get my attention back and get some sort of reaction. He tried to get me to embody??? Myself again with visualization and touch but I couldnt get back in myself. (That sounds hokey but I've never felt that sensation or rather lack of sensation before). It rattled him alittle . He was wary of letting me leave his office in that state. Is this what hypnosis is like.? The sensation of lack. Of feeling was awesome.

Sounds like you dissociated. How did you deal with awful stuff when you were little, for example?
I recently told my t I wanted a vacation from him, but he gently asked if it was because he was gone for one day. Did I think he wanted a vacation from me? I told him I felt ridiculous to depend on him so much, he's really just a stranger, he's not family. I showed up a few minutes late for a few sessions by taking a later bus, then I told him my vacation from him was over, and things have been progressing again. Say the things that are hard to say. ![]() |
