Some made no sense at all and were very good, like Strawberry Fields. this one is a blatant ripoff of Lucy in the Sky, nonsensical, and not very good, IMO

But it has a catchy beat and you can dance to it, so I give it a 7.

I attended my prom, and afterwards went down to Whitey Bulger's package store and hung out. Seriously. Whitey was a good guy, unless you were Italian. (or spanish, or black, or jewish, or portuguese, or anything but irish) It was better to be on his good side than his bad, and if you were a teenage guy in southie you wanted to be on his A list. So the guy I dated took me there to show me off.

Our prom theme: We've Got Tonight, Kenny Rogers version, because the stupid band didn't know Bob Seger.

Morning couch.

I should do laundry today, but I am too lazy to walk across the complex (or drive) to the laundry room. I counted my undergarments and I have enough to last another week and I have enough clothes to last longer than that. So, I've decided laundry can wait another week. I am so bad.

If sleeping were a sport, not sure I would even qualify for a participation award for this last week. Going horse back riding with friends today to try to tamp down my anxiety levels. I'm going to take the really well trained horse instead of one of the young ones, if she will let me catch her. She is not a huge fan of trail riding and periodically flips me the horsie version of the finger and keeps walking away when I try to catch her. I hate forcing her to do things she doesn't want to, so we'll just have to see if she wants to go today.

At church for 15 min and my mother is pissing me off.
I have 30 minutes before church even starts. And a stupid pot luck after church. Hopefully I made enough quinoa salad. Vegans and potlucks don't go we'll together!

Wishing I had an Ativan or ten. Grrrrr

Serenity now!!!

Quinoa in the morning. I'll have to try that sometime. No church here, Enya and coffee.

Went price estimating this morning to see what I could get for the refreshments after the kids' awards should the teacher decide to let us do it. Veggie trays are less than 10 bucks where I live for a fairly good-sized platter. Fruit trays are a a little less than $13 (makes since...fruit is more expensive than vegetables. So we could have veggies, fruit, chips and salsa, crackers and cheese, and cookies. That should be enough for "snacky" foods. Now to get my persuasive skills together to try to get us able to have a small celebration after the awards.

So, yes, I could drive to Wal-Mart to price hunt and see what they had available, but am still too lazy to do laundry. Hey if I have enough clothes to get me through another week, I can't see the point of washing today. :P

Keeping my fingers crossed that we can do something special for the kids and their parents after the awards. Still almost a month away, but I like to plan early.

For some reason I haven't been able to get myself to go to church in over a month...not since Easter. I usually go every Sunday. Today the excuse is that I have a lot of work to do...and my son is sleeping from prom hangover.

I wish the sun would come out so I could go to the pool and get away from the mother. Today's problem is the pricing I have on my wrist and how hard it is for her to ignor it and not get upset. To bad so sad

Hey ready I don't usually go to church. This was only to make the mother happy and I am still a disappointment to her because of my piercing. It is whatever. I am feeling kind of bad over this school thing. You know I kind of have some sort of understanding of why she was so horrible. Who wouldn't be with knowing now how I behaved. But that was then. I don't deserve it now so I don't want anyone else to know

Granite...when I read what you wrote this thought came to mind....which came first the chicken or the egg...in other words did your mothers treatment of you cause your behavior and did it just cycle on and on from there...

Every kid has issues some have tantrums some are criers... It's up to parents to find a way to help their children learn to handle frustration and stress and stuff and no way what the mother did was acceptable..

You didn't deserve it then...no child would..no matter what
Thanks for this!

There's never any point to washing clothes except what you make of it. Quit comparing doing what you like to doing what you don't like as if not doing what you don't like is a bad thing. Don't allow your underwear to judge your character

I hope you get to do the special party for the kids, that sounds great for them and something they'll remember. Maybe use that in your argument with the teacher; does she want the children to remember her and their time in her class positively? Blackmail :-)

I know how tricky it can be to my mind seeing my parents...here are 2 old people in their 80s...who seem calm and normal....

But I remind myself of the chaos and violence in our house when I start thinking its just me...all in my head

My mother is dead and she can still get me.
Sometimes I think I am like my one dog who tries to get places he could get when he was a puppy but now he is too big and just does not realize it so I have to go help him get unstuck.
Thanks for this!

What a great image/story. I have a cat like that but it doesn't matter that he's too big, he still gets/ungets himself stuck/unstuck without my aid, unless I haven't clipped his nails in awhile and one gets stuck up above his head or something and he's twisting and turning trying to get free, breaks my heart but the cat does not appreciate it, gets me with he extended nail(s) every time as I try to lift his "arm" up and out to pull him free..

I gave myself a mini pedi last nite. 3 kinds of cream on my feet. So smooth... Now I'm just lying here like a cricket!

Okay, I'll bite, what's with the cricket? When they rub their legs/feet together they get friction/sound, you're too slippery smooth now, hankster.
